How Did I Get Here?
PARRIS ISLAND / 2011
Born March 15th, 1991 and raised in the suburbs west of Syracuse is where my entire story begins and eventually returns to. I attended Westhill Central School District and spent majority of my time snowboarding and going out with my friends. After graduation I made an attempt at community college, but knew that my life had a greater calling than that.
June 6th 2011, I stepped off the bus and onto the infamous yellow footprints of Parris Island. I looked down and felt a sense of bewilderment at the number of heroes that had stood there before me. Looking to my left and right, I wondered if any of us would be remembered in the same light as greats like John Basilone and Lewis "Chesty" Puller. My 13 weeks at Parris Island, South Carolina consisted of controlled chaos and unparalleled focus. With a pain filled and sleep lacking culminating event called "The Crucible" I finally earned the title of United States Marine, and I knew my life had finally began. |

Throughout the next five years I accomplished many different things but here are some of the most notable things. I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in just over four years, I made plenty of friends and traveled around the SoCal area with them. On September 14th 2014 I met my wife, soon after we adopted a couple of puppies and we began our life together. But all of these significant events don't come close to the day I was finally able to meet my beautiful daughter Scarlett Jayms Quinlan.

The Next Step
During my time at Syracuse University I will focus my studies in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Information Management & Technologies. With this wide range of knowledge that I have gained from my time here and life experience I plan to move to either New York City or the Bay Area and pursue a career in finance industry.
